It is natural for rain and water to
fill up empty spaces
on the ground.

Puddles, ponds, lakes
and oceans all
get filled and refilled.

But even if there was no water,
these same spaces would
be filled with atmosphere.
Air replaces water.

Take away the air and
all you have left is
light or darkness to
fill the empty spaces.
